1. The Senior Pick A Super (SPAS) program allows a senior admin (not including probationary seniors) to pick a super admin without the pick having an application on file, without the pick meeting any time requirement (they must have a forum account), and without any formal approval *. At the same time, that senior will be allowed to remove their pick within the first 30 days if they so choose and for any reason or no reason. Persons that are removed within the first 30 days by that senior can still apply for admin using the standard application and they will not be considered as having had admin status. After the 30 days is up and assuming the pick has lasted the 30 days without being removed by the senior, the pick will be considered finalized and the senior can than pick another one if they so choose. The senior can also make a new pick if they remove a previous pick and they can have up to two picks at a time.
* Note: Seniors that intend to SPAS must PM me at least 24 hour in advance of doing any SPAS.
a. When a senior makes a pick, they must announce it in the general section and they must PM the owner, executive admin, and Finest to ensure we’re aware and that we give the new admin status on the forum. The new admin that's picked under the program person should post an introduction if they haven’t done so already.
Note: The person that’s picked by the senior can still be suspended as normal (or via the vote off policy) however if that's necessary within the first 30 days, the senior should exercise their right to remove their pick. If it's determined that senior has abused their SPAS privileges (e.g. purposely picking an unqualified person), that senior will be removed and demoted if reinstated.
2. The Telnet Pick a Super (TPAS) program allows each Telnet admin to directly appoint one super admin. Your pick must have 30 days on the forum (waiverable by owner) and an application on file. A Telnet admin can make one additional pick after they are promoted to Telnet Clan, and a Telnet Clan can make two picks if they never made a pick as a Telnet admin. Note: At times when we need more admins, the owner may collectively allow Telnets an additional pick however you cannot bank extra picks. For example, a Telnet Clan who has not made any picks will not get an extra pick since they still have 2 to make while the Telnet Clan who has made 2 picks will get the extra pick. Super admins can make TPAS recommendations to a Telnet admin; those you recommend should show excellent admin potential. As with seniors, a TPAS pick can be revoked within the first 30 days for any reason.
Note: The person that’s picked by the Telnet (Clan) can still be suspended as normal (or via the vote off policy) however if that's necessary within the first 30 days, the Telnet (Clan) should exercise their right to remove their pick. If it's determined that Telnet (Clan) has abused their TPAS privileges (e.g. purposely picking an unqualified person), that Telnet will be removed and demoted if reinstated.
a. Unlike the SPAS program, Telnets must obtain permission for each TPAS pick by posting a request message in the super admin forum. Provided there are no serous objections, the pick will normally be approved. Also, as noted above, any TPAS pick must have 30 days on the forum and an application on file. If your pick doesn’t meet the timeline requirement and you believe they are that good, try to get a senior to make the pick for you.
Note: If you have already used your TPAS pick(s), you can still make a TPAS request but note in the request that you have no more picks but would like to see the person TPAS'd by another Telnet, or SPAS/OPAS.
b. The Owner Pick A Super (OPAS) program allows the owner to directly appoint a super admin at his discretion. Senior and Telnet admins can make OPAS recommendations to the owner by posting a message in the super admin forum; those you recommend should show extraordinary admin potential and get positive reviews from other admins.
Additional Rules of SPAS/TPAS/OPAS:
1. This program does not replace the standard process for selecting super admins (i.e. regular player applies on the forums). It's just an additional method to help the server gain qualified admins. If you're an OP looking to get promoted under this program, do NOT badger Senior or Telnet admins to pick you; it will have the opposite effect. If you're hoping to get picked via the program, simply do the same positive things you would do to earn admin via the application process and do them well.
2. The SPAS and TPAS programs are not pick your pal and friends program; friend or not, ensure your picks are well qualified and motivated to be admins. Also, the SPAS and TPAS program are not for family members; family members who live in your household can be appointed under the family member policy.
3. For TPAS picks, instruct your pick to fill our the usual admin application with a note on the application stating they were directed to apply under TPAS. If you plan on just recommending the applicant (not TPAS/SPAS), make it clear to them they should list you only as a recommendation although you can still TPAS/SPAS later if you wish.
4. Because a Telnet has limited picks, a SPAS will take precedence over a TPAS if both a Senior and Telnet desire to make the same pick.
5. If a pick is disapproved during the TPAS request screening, the pick will still be considered for approval / disapproval under the normal application process or the application can be withdrawn.
6. Any pick you make under SPAS/TPAS becomes your primary responsibility to train, or you can find another admin who volunteers to train the pick.
7. If we have too many super admins at any given time, SPAS/TPAS picks may be frozen or deferred.
8. If a pick is revoked, a Telnet or Telnet Clan will get to make another pick to replace the one that was revoked. If a Senior revokes a pick, they can make another pick and not wait the normal 30 days. This rule assumes that the SPAS or TPAS privilege was not abused.
9. While Super Admins do not have a pick program, they can make a TPAS/SPAS/OPAS request and explain why they think the person should be selected under TPAS/SPAS/OPAS.
